Bluebird Photos and Information

I donīt normally get bluebirds in central Massachusetts, but in the early winter of 2001-2002 I had a pair appear in my front yard! They were checking out one of my birdhouses. I donīt think it was quite right for them - they ended up leaving. I haven't seen any since this one time.



Eastern bluebirds are found from around the Kansas line eastwards. Theyīre around 7" long and can be either bright or dull blue depending on the season. These as you see arenīt very blue at all. They have soft, mellow whistles and calls, and like fields and woods.
