Hummingbird Nectar Food Recipe
Don't spend money at the pet store buying up hummingbird nectar! It's quick and easy to make your own that's far better! This hummingbird food recipe only takes a few minutes, is inexpensive, and you know that it's healthy for them. No artificial colors or preservatives!
1 cup sugar
4 cups water
Boil this mixture for about 2 minutes. Now cool and store in the fridge until you need it. That's all there is to it! Don't dye it red. Red dye isn't good for birds. Also, use real sugar. Birds really need the sugar to keep their bodies going. They are NOT on a diet!
Be sure to keep your feeder very clean and to clean it at least once a week.
