Floods are cool!! You build farms (quickly!) on the flood plains - you have to be sure to build them and the granary fast enough so they can get their crops harvested and out before the flood comes. Otherwise the poor farmers stand there and drown when the Nile floods! Don't overbuild - just stay on your side of the river, build plazas to keep your people happy, and physicians to keep away disease. If you manage your growth, it should be an easy win. Then you move on to the Archaic age!
