Red Alert Walkthrough: Soviet 10

The key is that the convoy only goes as far forward as the rear-most Soviet force. You need to push a tank forward to identify enemy units, and then destroy them with the planes. MIGs for armored units, and YAKs for infantry. Watch out for the many centrally-located AA guns.

There is an enemy base about 1/2 way across in the middle of the board where you can take over a vehicle repair bay, and repair both planes and tanks. You can also try to take over other buildings to sell for cash, although the computer usually sells them before you can accomplish this.

Also at the bottom of the screen about even with this base is a field of oil wells where, if you destroy everything, you get a crate which repairs your vehicles to full strength. Take advantage of the oil barrels throughout the mission. The next challenge is getting past the ships at both the top and bottom of the screen. I recommend taking the low road and doing as much damage to the ship with your tanks as possible. Once the ship is cleared, you can send your planes along the low road to clear out the rest of the resistance.

Make sure that you send the planes immediately to the bottom of the screen, then across to the left. Stick with the planes after their attack and bring them back down to the bottom of the screen before you send them home. This way, they don't get chewed up by the ship at the top of the screen.
