Red Alert Walkthrough: Soviet 8BOTTOM This is an island mission. Build a sub base immediately, and as I've mentioned before, build up a pile of airstrips to start hitting your enemy with. There aren't any bridges to destroy here, just lots of dirt strips connecting the 'islands'. If you can get tanks on the ones to the north to keep the ore for yourself, you can 'starve' the allies to death. A note - there's a tiny island to the south with tons of extra money, and health. Build a transport and send someone down to take advantage of this free gift. TOP Both of these island missions are long and tortorous. Build a barracks first, so the attackers leave. Build tons of infantry to block the dirt paths (see above) and then start on ore trucks and tanks. Send the subs out destroying ships and guarding landing zones of the enemy (usually they have a signal smoke there before the transport arrives. These take a while to win; just keep building tanks, move slowly. Kill all buildings, although I haven't found any crates in them. It at least keeps the forces occupied while they creep across the landscape. You need a ton of tanks and planes to take out the final base. Red Alert Walkthough Index
