Introduction

Ratchet is a teenaged ... fox-thing? ... with long ears and a wrench. He sees the escapee mini robot Clank crash land near him, and you take over control. The game encourages random destruction :) You kill innocent little forest creatures who somehow spit out nuts and bolts when they poof into nothingness. Not that most platform games have much more sense to them in this regard :) Those bolts are your currency for purchasing more items, and there is an infinite supply of monsters. Just go back to a planet and they all reappear for you.

You have semi-helpful, semi-annoying help desk messages that pop up randomly to give you hints. You can turn them off if you want, but I'd suggest leaving them on. You never know when they actually WILL help you out. Boxes are found around that also have nuts and bolts. One of the most handy weapons, even late in the game, is your trusty Booomerango-wrench.

You learn that the Evil Guy, Chairman Dreg, is gathering planet bits to build himself a perfect planet since his pollution-minded race destroyed the one they had. Clank wants to go to a planet to stop him, and you agree to help out. Thus begins your adventure!
