Grand Theft Auto 3 Walkthrough:
Basic Tips
The key to this game is practice. Practice driving all sorts of cars to see how they handle. Drive all over town to get used to the roads, how to get from place to place, how to dodge cars. Don't worry about red lights as far as stopping, but be watching for cars to hit you broadside as you go through the intersection. Look for shortcuts down alleys or across parks.
Take a taxi and do the taxi missions, take the ambulance to do those. Both get you money and other bonusses and give you lots of practice driving. Explore all the odd corners, you never know what you'll find.
triangle - get in/out of vehicles
X - drive
square - brake / reverse
circle - shoot
L1 - change radio station
R2/L2 - cycle through weapons
R3 (push right thumbstick down) - turn on taxi / cop / etc. missions if in appropriate car L3 (push left thumbstick down) - beep horn
