The enemies are trying to blow the bridges - don't get caught on one. Some areas only can get to by jump mech. Upgrades there.

Reading - two light mechs. Just trying to delay you.

Now you hear to blow any bridges or tunnels you see. Sure enough, you start running into tunnels, make sure you collapse them in. Go along the path, taking out enemies.
