OK, you're now on the ship. Explore the ship for a while. I love the hat blowing in the wind with cool shading. Now go down into the ship. You meet up with Niko who says you have to pass the pirate test.
I just have to comment again about the live kid swinging on rope with candle swinging and moth and heat waves and everything that this game has. It's just amazing graphics.
Anyway, it's a patience thing, aim properly and jump. It might take you a few times but if you stay calm and don't get frustrated you can do it.
When you do it, you get the treasure in the chest. It's a Spoils Bag for holding 8 items.
When you pass the test, you now reach the fortress and go up on deck.
You're launched in a barrel towards the fortress. You lose your sword and land in the water.
