Peony
Growing Information and Photos
These photos are all courtesy of Mensa Gardening SIG members. These Peony bushes grow in Massachusetts.
The peony plant literally dies down to nothing each winter. In the spring, red shoots come out. The flower is in flower all through May. By July 1st, the flowers are all gone.
This past April we decided the peonies were getting just a bit TOO close to the stairs, and in mid-April we dug up a batch of them by the stairs and replanted them over by the bird feeder. They did QUITE nicely over there. They didn't flower the first year, but the plants were healthy and growing.
