Little Yellow Mushroom Photos and Information

When we brought our basil indoors one late autumn, we found the soil was soon getting covered by a yellow - white fungus. It was a cottony, almost spiderwebby type of consistency. Amongst this fluffy material were small yellow balls. Some of these balls then developed into small bright yellow mushrooms, almost cylindrical in shape.

These appear to be Leucocoprinus birnbaumii which apparently are a quite common thing that happens to house plants. Apparently they don't really hurt the plants, and there's no reliable way to thoroughly get rid of the fungus. So one might take a peaceful, serene approach to these beautiful mushrooms and enjoy their appearance.
