Sony SLV-D300P DVD / VCR Player ReviewWe got tired of having a giant DVD and giant VCR on our shelf - and neither worked very well. We were thrilled when we found the Sony SLV-D300P which had a side-by-side DVD and VCR in a very slim box. We've been using this for over a year now, and are just thrilled. We've played many VHS tapes and hundreds of DVDs. I love the progressive fast forward / rewind ability. If you're moving through a DVD, you hit 'fast forward' once and it goes at 2x. Hit it again, and it goes at 4x and so on. It makes finding the spot you want so easy! The machine takes DVD -R, DVD +r and every other DVD we've seen. We haven't had any problem with it at all. The only reason we even thought of getting a new machine is that we wanted a DVD Recorder, to be able to move all of our VHS tapes onto the more long-lasting DVD medium. While this recorder can record from DVD to VHS, it does not have a DVD recorder to be able to record from VHS onto DVD. Highly recommended!
