Ancestry of Eva Makowsky Sydorovna

Most of this information was gathered when I went to Ukraine in 2006 and met with many members of Eva's family. Ukraine Travelogue

Eva Makowsky Sydorovna was my maternal grandmother. She was born near Brody, Ukraine.

Her parents were Sidor (father) and Maria (mother). Maria died in 1944.

Eva's siblings were:

Matvij (male) born 1906 - the oldest. The father of Anna, who we met in Ukraine. Matvij had four daughters including Anna. The others were Yaroslava, Eugenia and Nadia (died young).

Daria (female) got married and died young.

Ivan (male) died in the wars young. Anna said they died in the "Baltic War".

Gregory (male) died in the wars young. Anna said they died in the "Baltic War".

Vasil (male) died in the wars young. Vasil is the one who died in the concentration camp who my grandmother had dreams about. Anna said they died in the "Baltic War".

Dorothy / Darota / Doria (female) - Janina's mother. Janina / Jenny is my mom's cousin we visited in Germany and later in the US.

Eva (female) - my baba / grandmother, born 1910

Sofia (female) - the youngest - born in 1923. We met her in Ukraine, she died shortly thereafter.
