George Frank John Waller:
General Memories

These memories were supplied by George's son, George A.

In Brazil (late 50's early 60's) reorganized an office by having all employees empty their desks. He and other managers sorted the desk contents to find records while the employees stayed hom.

Dad was in the Signal Corps and climbed phone poles, then moved indoors to do paperwork. Later he did well on an IQ test and joined a buddy who had applied to learn about tabulating equipment. Dad had already had experience with that equipment when he worked in Chicago. They went to Atlanta for training and rented an apartment. Later they went on a train to be shipped out. to PA, to NYC. Shipped out and spent alternating time freezing on deck or overheating below decks. Landed in Scotland, then to London area.
