My ggrandfather James Shea was born in 1830 in Kerry. The Leitrim on his Naturalization papers is a town in Kerry in the Iraghticonnor Barony, in Northern part of Kerry. I'm convinced that they wrote "Co. Leitrim" instead on his Naturalization petition. James and a brother John came through New York in 1851 and settled in Cambridge MA. Their father was Daniel, mother Mary or Catherine Sullivan. James married Johanna Galvin (sometimes written Gallivan) in Cambridge in 1854. They had six children. I noticed your post because his brother, John, had a grandson named Matthew Shea, born in 1889 in Cambridge. Had many Shea connections in Cambridge.
