Benjamin Oxendine was the oldest son of Charles Oxendine, who was born around 1741 in Bladen County NC. When Charles died in 1808, Benjamin was the exector of the will.

In the late 1700s, part of Bladen County turned into Robeson County.

1790 Census:
Robeson Cty 1 "other free"

1800 Census:
1 "other free" and 1 white woman

In 1809, the county sold 150 acres of his land for debt collection.

1810 Census:
Two "other free"

1820 Census:
One "free colored"
