Tintypes began in 1853 and were used primarily until the 1900s. This tintype is of Elizabeth Oxendine (born 1840), after she married JD Hunter in 1871 and began having children with him. We might assume that this is her pregnant with her first child by JD Hunter. The fabric on this tintype almost exactly matches that on the Nancy Jane tintype; Nancy Jane looks to be about age 10 in hers. That makes the dates line up perfectly.
