Netherfield is the large estate near the Bennet home that begins the story - it is where Mr. Charles Bingley moves into. Bingley brings in his friend Darcy as well as sister for a visit, and this starts the entire story rolling along. Jane goes out there to visit and ends up getting sick. A party is eventually thrown here.

To the locals, Netherfield is a huge estate - but to the Bingleys and Darcys, this is merely a country getaway.
