Canyon Cafe Westborough Restaurant Review

I've eaten at Canyon Cafe three times and each time it's been an iffy experience. The food has been great - but service has gone between reasonably OK to absolutely atrocious and has never been great. We've been left sitting for 20 minutes waiting for a check, water hasn't been refilled.

It's also important to note that this Mexican restaurant pre-makes all their sauces and apparently uses them on EVERYTHING. So one time we went with a person who wanted a mild dish. They literally could not find anything at all on their menu that did not have a hot sauce on it and had to special-make her a meal. She wasn't asking for zero spice - just mild spice. So that could be trouble for any group going here that has a non-hot-spicy person in their mix.

Also it can get REALLY loud here. As in families with screaming children. This is not necessarily what I'm looking for when going out to a special dinner with someone. In their bar area you often have to shout to be heard.

It's convenient to get to, but I'd rather choose another restaurant in the area for my meals.
