Morocco Worcester Restaurant Review

The Morocco restaurant is located on famous Shrewsbury Street ("restaurant row") in Worcester, Massachusetts. This lovely restaurant features delicious food and they even have belly dancing on some Saturday nights! We were lucky enough to see her dance, and it was quite enjoyable. There were only a few other patrons in this mostly empty restaurant.

The foot was excellent. However they only have one middle eastern area wine on the menu - from Lebaonon - and it's really not good at all. I wish they had more selections so you didn't have to default to a US wine. Finally while they were good at bringing out the water early on, later in the meal they would vanish for LONG stretches leaving us without anything to drink. So a mixed bag.

They have their own parking lot out back, so go around to park there!

The decor is elegant with interesting middle eastern items hanging from the walls.

Well recommended, and you can get a Restaurants.com coupon to go here - you pay $10, you get a coupon for $25! It's just not valid on Saturdays (which of course is when we went :) )

UPDATE
We went back again to use our coupon, this time we went on a Friday night. We were literally the only people in the restaurant. The food was good, but the service was really not good. The waitress would leave for long stretches and not check in. The wine was brought with the cork ripped through the foil (so lots of foil shards everywhere) and was poured out without letting us see the bottle or try it first. The appetizers were brought, and then about 2 seconds later the main course was brought, so we watched our food get cold while we tried to eat the appetizers hurridly. We had to cancel our soup order because at this point the soup would have gotten cold too! Things are normally spaced out for a reason, so you can eat each one hot and without the table being jammed with items on it. The water wasn't refilled, so we finally asked for a pitcher to do it ourselves. Plus they mandated a 20% tip with the coupon so the waitress got tipped well for her poor service. My order, an eggplant - tomato dish, was great but over half the dish was covered with a huge mound of rice and only a small portion was the actual eggplant part. The decor is lovely in here, but I don't think we'll be coming back.

April 2011 Update
Not a huge surprise - Morocco has now shut down.
