Harman Kardon SoundsticksI've had my Harman Kardon Sountstick II system for probably ten years now. I have to say, these speakers are amazing. I'm just as thrilled with them as when I first purchased them.
I adore music. So many times a speaker system is great at the beginning but dies off over time. Things fail or wear out. But these Harman Kardons are real workhorses. I often test them as my "baseline" against other speakers or items I'm testing - and time after time it's the Harman Kardons I'm still thrilled with.
My boyfriend's in a band, I play several instruments, and I simply love music. I adore classical, pop, rock, blues, jazz, you name it. I've put all sorts of songs through these speakers over the years. Sure, they're not as good as a $10,000 set - but I don't have $10,000 to spend on speakers. For what I paid, these are just amazing. I'm quite pleased with them.
And, yes, they look good! I'm at my computer all day every day, pretty much, and it's nice to have something there that is visually pleasing. But I would have ditched these long ago if that's all they were good at. It's the sound that's important to me. And these deliver.
Sure, it's a bit of a pain that the subwoofer dial is down on the subwoofer beneath my desk, but really, you set that once and are pretty set. I haven't had to touch mine since. And the richness it provides is just stunning.
All in all, very highly recommended - and that's after a decade of use.
