Actually this movie was filmed in the Caribbean but it was supposedly set in the Florida Keys, on "Coral Key". You can see the big sign they focus in on at the beginning of the movie.

It's funny to see Elijah Wood as a munchkin in this one, with his big eyes, sans ring. Paul Hogan is rather good as his non-kid-friendly uncle who of course comes around. It's the classic family tale of bratty teen and grumpy oldster that help each other out. Plus there are fun scenes of Paul trying to get his pet pelican drunk. Don't try this at home!
