Discovery Island - Animal Kingdom - Walt Disney World Area Reviews

Discovery Island is the home of the gigantic, gorgeous hand carved Tree of Life. This isn't a real tree, but a work of art that has hundreds of animals worked into its design. It has a show about bugs, and is the center point for the entire park.

There are three restaurants on this central island. They are Flame Tree Barbeque (with lovely seating by the water), Safari Barbeque and Safari Pretzel. So you get meat and bread :) Surely when you're surrounded by animals, it's nicer to eat veggies in front of them? :)
