Samurai Ceramic Doll

This ceramic samurai doll was given to me by my mother in law, and she said it had been brought back to her from Japan. He is a Samurai archer, but his bow has since been lost. He is in the act of drawing the bow string. He wears a circular object on his waist which is removable.
