Dragonfly Nature Polymer Clay Journals

I love nature, and I often try to have my jewelry and polymer clay creations have an organic look to them. I really enjoy it when my journals have a natural aspect to them.

Dragonfly Polymer Clay Journal

This dragonfly journal was created with a mixture of stone-style granite polymer clay and green stone polymer clay. After I created a grid, I ran it through a pasta machine. Next, I made an oval of gold clay and lay it on top, then pressed a dragonfly stamp into it. I like having the stamp "fall off" the edge of the color I'm stamping into. I carved out the holes on the left before baking.

For the insides, I began with sheets of 3.4" x 3.4" memo paper, colored yellow. I have a Swingline hole punch that is great for creating two holes evenly without any fuss. Then comes the connection. These brads are from JoAnn's fabric store.

I hand curled a stretch of wire into a spiral for the bottom right corner, it's a signature I like to put on my journals.
