Erica Jong - Aries Writer
Erica Jong lit a bombshell in the early 70s when she wrote Fear of Flying. This tale of a woman looking for fulfillment became one of the most talked about books of the era.
Erica Jong was born on March 26, 1942 in New York City. Raised with money and great opportunity, she turned to poetry and writing to express the joy and frustration of being a woman raised in the era of Doris Day but pushed to be a feminist of the late 60s and 70s.
Many feel her greatest triumph to date was the book Fear of Flying, which openly discusses women's needs and desires.
