A History of RumRum is a product of the tropics, being created from sugar, molasses, or other sugar-industry products. The manufacturers add yeast to this, ferment it, and then distill the results. When rum is made, it is a clear drink. Many manufacturers then age or color the rum, bringing it to a more dark or golden state. Most aging takes place in barrels that once held whiskey or bourbon. Rum can be aged for as much as 30 years or more. Alcohol / Liqueur Info Listing Directory
