Ostrich - Dream Symbols
An ostrich is a bird - but it's huge and cannot fly. There are myths of ostriches sticking their heads in the sand. Are you dreaming about ostriches?
First, the ostrich is the biggest living bird. Even though it has feathers, it can't fly any more. You might feel like you are equally out of place - supposed to be part of a group but not quite fitting in properly.
Ostriches make their way quite nicely, even without being able to fly. They defend themselves with their powerful feet and can ward off most attackers. This could be telling you to find a way to adapt to your situation, to find a different way of dealing with threats.
There are myths of ostriches sticking their head in the sand to hide from enemies. This is of course untrue, but maybe the myth is stuck in your head. Maybe the dream is trying to warn you not to avoid potential dangers - to keep your senses alert for problems and to handle them immediately.
