FAQ - What Is Mesothelioma?

The first question is what is a mesotheliomium. Your mesotheliomium is the 'bag' that holds all of your internal organs together in your main chest cavity. It makes sure that your lungs, stomach, heart, etc. stay safe. Mesothelioma is the name given to a cancer that develops in this area. Since the mesotheliomium is so critically important to your health - and holds your most important body parts - a cancer here is truly nasty.

Mesothelioma usually starts out by taking hold around the lungs. This is because most of the time, mesothelioma is caused by breathing in asbestos dust. The asbestos comes into your lungs when you breathe in, gets trapped there, and the cancer begins. Once it takes hold, it then spreads to the rest of your body.
