Moon Haiku

Silent orb, please dim
so my lover cannot see
glistening tear-tracks.

Moon, only witness
to this joining of our love,
consecrate our vows.

Raindrops, nature's tears,
on my lover's dark grave fall,
Moon's sorrow is mine.

Cruel, lover's vision,
tantalize me in my dreams,
leave me, cold, at dawn.
