Earth Day Cleanup - Uxbridge MA 2005
When I got to the cleanup area at 9am, there were already large groups of people heading out to tackle the garbage!
Some of them were singing marching songs, and everyone was quite enthusiastic. The weather was a lovely misty, spring day. I warned everyone to be careful with their "pointy sticks".
Just to show that spots of beauty gleamed through the gaps in the garbage.
This stretch of the road, now clean, looks very inviting.
The girls enthusiastically clean up what some nasty adults dumped in the forest
There were volunteers for as far as the eye could see
The volunteers dragged the larger stuff to the side of the road, for trucks to gather up.
The trucks brought everything to the dumpsters
Everyone pitched in to drag out the garbage!
