Downtown Anchorage Alaska Photos
Curious what downtown Anchorage, Alaska looks like? These series of photos give you a glimpse into the northern reaches of the US!
Even in the center of a major city, you can still see the gorgeous mountains in the background. This range of mountains lines one side of Anchorage.
Even in late April, with the sun shining, there is still piles of snow on the ground.
Anchorage boasts a collection of great restaurants, movie theaters, gift shops, and a fine museum.
A pair of sculptures were located in one spot, enjoyed by the local youth.
On the left in the distance you can see the visitors center, with its authentic sod roof!
Here's a close-up of the visitor's center, with its log cabin construction and sod roof. Apparently in the summertime they plant wildflowers to grow here.
