Gwennies Anchorage Photos
Here are a collection of photos taken at Gwennie's Restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska. This traditional, laid back restaurant has stone walls and stuffed animals galore!
Here is the main Gwennies building. They have an old car and a painted walrus out front. Rumor is that the walrus used to be a dragon, from when this was once a Chinese restaurant. In any case, the building is very easy to spot from the street.
A large stuffed bear is in the center of the restaurant, at the side of a pond of water. The staff is very proud of the fact that all coins collected in the pool - with no fee at all - are donated to charity.
This beaver is off to one side of the restaurant. You can get quite an education in wildlife by eating here!
Even the bathroom features a rustic atmosphere, with stone walls.
Here is the bar area of Gwennies. This photo is taken from the center of the restaurant, looking back towards the front door.
Here's one of their dishes - their Fisherman's Platter. This dish features King Crab, Scallops and a number of other fishy delights.
This classic car is a clear landmark that you've gotten to Gwennie's.
Was this walrus once a foo dog or dragon from a Chinese Restaurant? Only Gwennies knows for sure!
