Finding a Hand Raised Parakeet

I love your bird Pinto? Where did you find her and is she hand fed? Up

here in the north you can only get wild birds that are extremely young but

not hand fed. My bird Ziggy is about 6 months old and it is hard to tell

if it is a boy or girl b/c the nose changes blue to white all the time. In

the next few months I would like to get Ziggy a mate but am not sure where

the best best is to get one. espicially a hand fed parakeet..Please let

me know.:)

Yes all of my parakeets were hand fed by breeders before I bought them. I think there are breeders all over the world, so there probably is one somewhere near you - finding them might be the tricky part! Try your local bird clubs or yellow pages.

Blue to white cere sounds like a boy, but it's often hard to tell before they are a year or so old.
