Training Two Birds
User Question
I bought 2 new beautiful keets, and they are roughly 3-4 months. I put them together in a cage and I will be putting more stuff in the cage. As of now, I only have in a food and water bowl, swing, and mita treat. I have only had them for two days, and they already respond to my singing and talking.
I would like to know how to train 2 birds at once to be hand trained. I want to be able to take out and hold these birds, I love them very much. They will not let me touch them much, only for a second. I will be following your steps now that I read them, I just want to know if it will work with 2 birds in the same cage.
Also, I hear that birds wont eat in the dark so it must be light for them to eat. I live in my downstairs, and there is only partial light during the day through the window they sit in front of. How can I be sure they are eating and drinking. Thank you so much!
Lisa's Answer
If the birds are sitting in front of a window, they must be getting sunlight while the sun is up - even if it's not direct light. It only gets dark at night, at least in my part of the world :) Believe me, birds will eat when they're hungry and drink when they're thirsty, even if it's dark out.
