Going On Vacation

We are planning to get a baby parakeet in December. We travel out of town

for the weekend about once a month. Is it okay to just put in plenty of

food & water and leave the bird alone for 2 days -- 3 days at the most?

Or would a weekend trip require someone to look after the bird?

We go away for the weekend all the time. You want to be sure you leave lots of food and water - and that there's no way that other pets can get to them. But other than that they should be quite fine!
