Rescued Bird is Doing Fine

User Question
Thank you. I found a lost, scared, and malnurished parakeet in my

backyard today. It did not belong to any of my neighbors. Its beak had

grown very long, to the point it couldn't eat. I easily captured it in my

hand, and took it to the bird store, got it food, its beak trimmed, etc.

She is now happy and safe, and I now seem to have my first bird, as I

cannot locate the owner. :( Your website has been of great information

for me in learing what to do to care for her. Many thanks to you.

Lisa's Answer
That is great, that you rescued the bird from starvation! If the bird was in that bad a shape it had either been lost for a long, long time or badly mistreated by its previous owners. It sounds like a wonderful thing that your keet ended up in your loving care!

We'd love to see photos of it, if you'd like to post some in our forum :)
