I was just wondering if there is a reason why my bird pants.

Birds pant for the same reasons that humans pant - because they're hot. Panting is a way of getting fresh air in, hot air out, and cooling yourself off. Dogs pant, cats pant, humans pant and birds pant.

I would check the temperature in the bird's area and make sure it is a stable, warm but NOT hot temperature. Birds don't do well with breezes whether they're hot or cold breezes. They like a steady, comfortable temperature.
