Parakeet Acrobatics

Hello - I have a parakeet that I think has lost his mind or at least should join the circus. He does acrobatics and spins on the perch upside down and hangs like a bat. Sometimes he runs across the bottom of the cage like he is in training for a marathon. There is a female in the house is this a mating ritual? I didn't find this question in your FAQ but if it was and I didn't see it I'm sorry in advance. Thanks

Thanks for checking the site first for the answer - I really appreciate that! Parakeets are natural acrobatics. If you look through my pictures of my keets, they LOVE to hang upside down and sideways and climb around. They are very intelligent and very curious. They will tunnel through paper towel tubes, peek under blankets, you name it. They love a variety of toys. None of this has to do with females. It's just the way parakeets are. Be sure to play with yours a lot so he is entertained!
