Breeding Budgies Without a Vet

User Question
i had birds that have babies a lot and one of them, my favorite one that never bites, always lets you pick it up, and loves humans, but it has a little problem. instead of the top beak overlaping the bottom one the bottom one is overlapping the top one. and also its back is a little croocked. its tail is pointed in a crooked direction and it has a hard time walking straight, so it walks sideways. i have had this bird for about 2 years(in human).

have you ever seen a bird like this and can you give me the nearest vet that takes birds( i live in springfield nj). all the vets i have seen dont take birds.

and can you tell me why the bird has those problems it had it when it was born.

Yikes, you really shouldn't be breeding budgies if you don't have a vet around! I would immediately go to your local pet stores and ask them for vet recommendations in the area. Try your yellow pages. It is really critical that you have a vet you can call if you are breeding.

Birds have birth defects just like any other animal does for any number of reasons - genetic, chance, bad nutrition.
