Is My Parakeet Happy?

How do I know when my parakeet is "happy"? Mine closes his eyes when I talk or sing to her. Is that a sign of contentment?

Every parakeet has its own unique personality, just like cats and dogs and humans. You can just as easily ask how you know if a human is happy. Different humans do different things. So spend time with your parakeet, learn his moods. Yes, for a parakeet to close its eyes means it trusts you and does not fear you. So that is a good sign :)
