Finger Training Two Birds
User Question
Hi, I am a student and I decided to get 2 parakeets because I am away for a better part of the day. I got them at the same time so they are currently both in the cage right now and I have had them for a day so far. The guy at the bird store said that it would be very difficult for me to finger-train both of them since they have each other and see me as only the person who gives them food. I would like to know if you agree with this, and also when you think i should start finger-training. Thank you very much in advance.
Lisa's Answer
I know tons of people who have finger trained multiple birds. I have four birds and all are finger trained. Just follow the instructions and work on it each day. Sometimes it can even be easier to train 2 birds at a time because the shy bird will watch the non-shy bird get on your finger, and want to be on it too.
