Mommy Parakeet Not Caring for the Young

have pair of parakeets and this is the second time she has laid. this time she laid 7 eggs but is not feeding them when they hatch. they die within 2 days.

what can i do and can they be hand feed if she won't feed them and if so what do i feed them?

Yikes, it is *critical* if you have breeding keets that you know all of these answers before the eggs appear. Raising parakeets is a 24 hour a day job and requires a ton of care, you are responsible for tending to those young babies. Please talk to a vet immediately, bring in the mom and dad to make sure the mom is in fact healthy enough to be bearing young. It may be that the mom is sick and that's why she can't take care of the babies, and that she could die if forced to continue breeding. The vet can also give you complete details on how to properly do breeding, and tell you what books to buy. You definitely should never be sitting by while the babies die.
