Pink Australian Budgie Parakeet
User Question From what I understand they are kind of rare and hard to find.
Lisa's Answer
So all you are really looking for is a budgie that has pink feathers. Budgies have been bred to have all sorts of colors- blue, yellow, purple, even patchworks of different colors. But to be honest I've never seen a pink parakeet. I've never seen a red parakeet either. So if someone has bred a parakeet to be pink or red, it is an unusual thing and even if you could track that breeder down, it would cost a ton of money to buy one of the babies. The feather color on a keet doesn't matter at all, it's like a human having black hair or brown hair. It's just a feather color.
I would really choose a keet based on its individual personality, not on the feather color. You could end up with a really nasty bird that happened to have pink feathers, vs a really friendly, loving, talkative bird that happened to have blue feathers.
