User Question
Listen, I've got 2 parakeets. I live in Kuwait in the Middle East and its quite cold. I want to give my keets a bath but mom says its too cold and they will die of a chill. I keep telling her what it says on your website but she is not believing me! Please give my an answer and i'll show it to my parents. Thanx!

My parakeets having trouble poohing! Is that ok? Is there anything I can do to help?

Thanks alot!

Well, if it was say 40F outside and really windy then yes, dunking a keet with water would then cause it to get cold. But I assume YOU take a bath or shower, right? And then you dry off again. Hopefully whatever room you take that bath or shower in is heated. So you would let the bird bathe in that same room, and then dry it off with a hair dryer (on gentle heat) afterwards. So your keet is safe just like you are. In fact if you take your shower first, the room will get nice and warm - that way the keet's bath is in a nice, warm room. Just make sure you dry the keet thoroughly before bringing it back out into the regular room.

I'm not sure that keets normally really have trouble pooping? They push a bit and it comes out. If they have diarrhea or something like that, it's time to talk to a vet. Also of course make sure they get plenty of water and veggies and such, so their diet is a healthy one.
