Buying a Hand Fed English Budgie

User Question
I have had many pets but I have never had a bird. I think a parakeet will be the perfect start. I checked out a website and might buy the budgie there. On the website it didn't list the price and I don't want to pay more than 30 dollars because I have to pay for the cage and food etc. Do you by any chance know the price for a hand-fed English budgie?

Lisa's Answer
In general English budgies cost more than normal ones so I would go with a standard budgie if money is an issue. But I really would never buy one from a website. Find a local breeder, go choose your keet yourself based on which one looks most healthy. Keets live up to 20 years - you don't want to get one that will be sick all that time.
