Training a Biting Bird

User Question
i have two parakeets, a blue one and a yellow one. the blue parakeet doesnt bite but the yellow one does. i dont know how i am suppose to train it if it keeps biting me. i am also afraid that the yellow one is gonna teach the blue one how to bite, then i wont be able to train any of them :( please help!

Lisa's Answer
Actually if you read my instructions on hand training you should *never* be in a position where a bird can bite you. Birds bite when they feel threatened. So that is the first problem. Training is all about building trust between you and your birds, in a slow and non-confrontational manner. Please read through the training instructions on the site and then start out at step 1. Take it VERY slow and only move on to the next step when you are fully set with the current one. That will involve no biting at all.
