Keet Nibbling on my Fingers

User Question
Hello, I bought a male parakeet around 3 weeks ago, and believe me he is the

most beautiful parakeet I have seen. The thing is, he is not afraid of me but

he still does not like coming near my hand/fingers. But today something strange

happened and that was when I put my finger through the side of the cage he would walk back and forth and would bite softly on my finger 3 or 4 times.

Does that mean he is starting to trust my hands or not? How long will it be until he comes to me by himself? He is not a baby but he is less than a yr old. If you could please answer those questions it would be greatly appreciated

Lisa's Answer
It doesn't sound like you're following my hand training instructions :) Yes, of course over time keets get used to you. But you can't just sit around hoping for it to happen! You need to work on it daily, to form that bond between you and your keet. After 3 weeks you could already be well into the hand training process. Start working on it!
