Keet Father Being Trouble

I have two parakeets and my female lays the eggs a couple days after she lays the eggs the male will force her out of her nest and do something with the eggs and when the female tries to go back in he prevents her. Please give me an answer and dont just tell me to go to the vet because i already have and he cant help

Your vet can't help?? It sounds like this is not a bird vet! There are tons of vets out there who are great with cats, or with dogs, but who know nothing at all about birds or parakeets. It is critical as the owner of a pair of breeding budgies that you ally yourself with a *competent* avian vet who has experience with breeding birds. Believe me, an overbearing father is going to be the least of your worries if you have eggs that you are trying to raise. There is no way you can wait for advice from websites that are thousands of miles away, and who have no idea about the particulars of your situation.

If you had a human baby, you would find a local, human baby specialist. You wouldn't go to a doctor who specialized in old women and just say "oh well" when that doctor had no idea why your baby had a red rash on its face. Owning parakeets involves the same responsibility for a living creature.

If you can't keep those eggs safe, then separate the male and the female. There is no way you should be allowing parakeets to breed if you then allow the male to sit there and harm the family.
