Adding a Second Bird

I just got my first parakeet last Saturday. Now I'm wondering if I'll be able to give her as much attention as she needs. I'm thinking about adding a second bird. Do you know if the second bird would have to be in a second cage, or could I put a second one in with her right away? I assume that if you brought two home from the store, you could put them together. But is it too late for that now?

Even if you got two at once I'd put each in a separate cage so each can settle in and get to know you without being a 'flock with a human feeder'. That personal interaction with you is critical to the training process. I have several pages on this on the website.
